Perstima pre-tax profit drop to RM9.12m

KUALA LUMPUR: Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (Perstima)
Bhd's
(Perstima) pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2011 fell
to RM9.12 million from RM19.62 million in the same period last year.
Revenue
fell to RM204.26 million from RM225.47 million previously due to the
fall in sales volume, it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
Going
forward, Perstima said, its operating environment was expected to
remain challenging and competitive due to lower tinplate price from
China and South Korea as well as the expected economic downturn in the
global market.
"These factors will affect the growth and profitability of the group for the next three months," it said. - Bernama
