Tenaga posts better Q2 results
Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (TNB) results for the second quarter to Feb 29, 2012 looks bright, said chief executive officer,
Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh.
"Petronas has been providing us with an average of 1,100 million
metric standard cubic feet a day (MMSCFD) of gas, and that has decreased
our spending on distillate fuel per month," he told reporters at the
National Energy Security Conference 2012, here, today.
Che Khalib said TNB needs 1,250 MMSCFD of gas to generate
electricity, and with the good volume of gas provided by Petronas, the
amount of spending on distillate fuel would be much reduced from last
year.
Last year, Tenaga had to pay RM400 million per month on the price
differential between using distillates and gas as fuel, he added. -- Bernama
