Results: BToto's Q3 profit advances

# Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd's third quarter ended January 31, 2012 pre-tax profit increased slightly to RM164.9 million from RM161.493 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

Turnover for the three-month period also rose to RM983.459 million from RM851.166 million previously.

Its pre-tax profit for the first nine months of its financial year ending April 30, 2012 rose to RM443.831 million from RM357.831 million in previous corresponding period.

Revenue for the period was also up to RM2.691 billion from RM2.532 billion.


# Scientex Bhd's pre-tax profit for the first-half year ended Jan 31, 2012 rose to RM52.1 million from RM44.81 million in the same period of 2011.

Revenue increased to RM428.3 million from RM381.5 million previously, it said in a statement today.

The industrial packaging manufacturer and property developer company said the increase in revenue was due to higher demand for stretch film and polypropene strapping bands while the group's property arm benefited from new launches. - Bernama
