GPS unit wins Petrofac contract
KUALA LUMPUR: Global Process Systems Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian unit of GPS Inc, which in turn is a member of the Al-Jaber Group, has been awarded a fast-track sea water injection module contract from Petrofac, a global engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
According to GPS, the award follows the successful on-time, on-budget delivery of a TEG unit by GPS Singapore last year, as well as scrubber-cooler refurbishment and fuel gas package to Petrofac.
"Key to our success in securing this project was our ability to meet the client's fast-track delivery requirements and having our own in-house fabrication facilities, allowing for full control over the manufacturing process," said GPS Malaysia director and general manager Steve Chadwick.
The new contract is for the supply of a complete 30,000 barrels of water a day and sea water injection module consisting of coarse filters, fine filters, deaerator column, vacuum pumps, chemical injection, hypochlorinator and hazardous area control panel.
GPS said the module would be installed on a mobile offshore production unit currently being converted for use east coast Peninsular Malaysia. The project will be executed from GPS' office here and delivery is scheduled for next month.
