Bursa to launch new website soon
PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia will launch its new website towards the end of this month with new features including faster and easier search for stock prices, all-in-one listed company profile pages, improved classification of information as well as online purchasing of information products.
A stock exchange official told StarBiz that the new website would be launched on April 26, a month after the beta version was made available on the current website for users to explore and provide their feedback.
For the first time since listing in March 2005, the website would be divided into a corporate and a market section to provide a clear differentiation of the role of Bursa Malaysia as an exchange marketplace and as a listed company.
The stock exchange official said the changes were in response to user feedback and market research.
“Clearly, a lot has happened since our website was last revamped in 2006. So, there was a need to re-design the website to improve the content structure and user-friendliness as well as to keep abreast of international web standards and features,” she said.
She added that there was a need to refresh and upgrade the hardware, software and infrastructure supporting the website, with the changes being implemented designed to give users much easier and faster access to the information they want.
She said the feedback so far had been favourable. “We’re cognisant too that it won’t be to everyone’s taste but some users have given us suggestions, of which we’ll look into to further improve the new website,” she said.
In the market section, securities, derivatives and Islamic markets would have a dedicated price page which would show the latest price movements of the day while all historical and current company announcements would be consolidated into a single location.
These changes would also come with new filtering features to make navigation easier.
