Daibochi chalks up RM7.2m Q1 profit
Daibochi Plastic and Packaging Industry Bhd (Daibochi), a leading flexible packaging solutions provider, recorded a
higher pre-tax profit of RM7.2 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2012 against RM5.9 million chalked up in the previous corresponding quarter.
The company attributed the commendable performance to higher group revenue of RM68.8 million, during the quarter under review, versus RM67.7 million registered in the same quarter last year.
Managing director Thomas Lim said Daibochi's strong start to the current financial year demonstrated the results of the company's operational improvement strategies.
"Though the global economy remained uncertain this year, we are confident Daibochi will remain on course throughout the financial year in line with the resilience of our clientele who are mainly in the food & beverage and fast moving consumer goods sectors.
"At the same time, we hope that our continued focus on operational efficiency will help us mitigate any fluctuation in raw material prices, going forward," he said in a statement. -- BERNAMA
