Pernec Corp Bhd hopes to assist businessmen conduct online trading safely and conveniently through its e-commerce development.

The company said by having e-commerce accessible via various devices such as desktop, smart phone or tablets, business owners would be able to streamline and reduce their advertising expense for product promotion and services through digital advertisements.

"In time, this medium of trade is set to challenge the existence of traditional businesses," said Managing Director Abdul Karim Sallam in a statement in conjunction with the 2012 Malaysia Unit Trust Week which ends on Saturday.

He said local business corporations, particularly small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs), are still reluctant to build their own e-commerce trading platforms or portals.

"This scenario is depressing as it prevents the SMEs from gaining the prospects of penetrating the global market.

"We have also discovered even some large corporations are slow in developing their online trading presence through e-commerce although in actual fact, this medium is the easiest and most cost effective to develop," Abdul Karim said.

To overcome these issues, Pernec is showcasing its e-commerce capabilities through its trading platform, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] at the exhibition which would enable the execution of real-time business processes with the
assistance of Internet technologies.

The e-commerce portal provides a virtual marketplace that enables full online trading as well as integration of logistics and supply chain management, creating a common platform for manufacturers, traders and consumers of halal products.

"We want to work and co-create with potential enterprises who wish to embark and deploy an online business since some forms of customisation is required.

"At the same time, we plan to expand this portal over the cloud computing platforms," Abdul Karim added. -- BERNAMA
