Pernec to go mobile with LTE technology
Pernec Corp Bhd, the technology company of Permodalan Nasional Bhd, will tap into opportunities in the future mobile
communications network growth with the introduction of the ground-breaking small cell long-term evolution (LTE) technology.
Managing director Abdul Karim Sallam said small cell solutions rather than micro cell deployment will offer an enhanced, cost-effective mobile network that enables mobile operators to provide premium mobile services and excellent consumer experience.
“Small cell solutions consist of a broad range of technology components that address connectivity and service management challenges faced by mobile operators,” he said in a statement today.
He said Pernec’s vision of the LTE roll-out in future mobile network in the local market is based on the assumption that services and applications would demand higher uplink and downlink throughput.
“The compact all-in-one LTE base station system allows for a wide range of installation options in areas with limited space, such as rooftops and compact indoor spaces.
“This series paves the way for more cost-effective installation of small cell base stations, helps boost capacity and improves overall performance,” he added.
Abdul Karim said there is also greater demand for environments that ensure stable communications in areas where communication speeds are likely to fall due to heavy traffic or where radio waves are weak, adding Pernec can meet these needs with this innovative base station. -- Bernama
