Atlan sees 20m shares crossed

KUALA LUMPUR: Atlan Holdings Bhd's 20 million shares were transacted in several off-market deals on Thursday at an average price of RM4.25.
Stock market data showed the shares represented a 7.8% stake in the stamped metal components manufacturer. This was based on its paid-up of 253.65 million shares.
At 4.01pm, Atlan was up two sen to RM4.30, the highest since May 2000.
The FBM KLCI was up just 0.09 of a point to 1,582.48. Turnover was 1.03 billion shares valued at RM792.52mil. There were 279 gainers, 399 losers and 323 stocks unchanged.
Atlan posted net profit of RM114.81mil in the financial year ended Feb 29, 2012 versus RM30.18mil a year ago.
For the Q4, it was in the black with net profit of RM5.21mil compared with net loss of RM19.12mil a year ago. The earnings were also boosted by a once-off gains by Blossom Time Sdn Bhd amounting to about RM70mil upon the disposal of its land to an external party.
