Fewer IPOs expected in 2012 Empty Fewer IPOs expected in 2012

The number of initial public offerings (IPOs) on Bursa Malaysia will be
fewer than last year in line with the regional trend due to global
economic conditions.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd Chief Executive Officer Datuk Tajuddin Atan said
however, the volume and size of the IPOs are expected to be bigger
especially with the impending listings of Felda Global Ventures
Holdings Bhd and Gas Malaysia Bhd.

"So far at least 10 IPOs have been approved for this year," he said during a corporate presentation at Invest Malaysia 2012.

Tajuddin said the Malaysian stock market has been more resilient
against advanced emerging and developed peers and this showed the
strength of the local market.

"Our market has also evolved with more public listed
companies moving abroad. Nearly 40 per cent of the FBM KLCI companies’
revenues are from overseas as of last year," he said. -- Bernama
