Ho Hup awarded RM87m army complex job (5169)

Ho Hup Construction Co Bhd (Ho Hup) has secured a RM87 million contract to built an integrated army complex in Johor

Baharu.



Ho Hup announced to Bursa Securities Malaysia today that the
contract was awarded by Johor Corporation, the developer of the
complex.



The integrated complex will comprise three clusters of building,
including nine blocks of residental apartments for army personnel.


The other two clusters will house the administration office,
infrastructure and utilities building, sporting facilities, a
multi-purpose hall and clinic.





"This contract marks a positive turning point to kick-start the
revival of Ho Hup's construction division. We also appreciate Johor
Corporation's confidence in Ho Hup's ability to deliver," said Ho Hup
Executive Director, Derek Wong Kit Leong.



Construction of the complex is expected to be completed in January
2015, or over a 30-month period. It is expected to contribute
positively to the earnings of the company for the financial year ending
December 2013 onwards. -- Bernama
