Technicals

Another weak day ahead in KL

The FBM KLCI fell by 3.60 points to close at 1,632.57 yesterday. Its
resistance levels of 1,632 and 1,647 may cap market gains, whilst
weaker support areas are located at 1,611 and 1,629.

The Trading Idea is a TAKE PROFIT call on SUNWAY with downside target prices of MYR1.86 and MYR2.02.

Axis REIT: To grow asset size to MYR2b by end 2013.
Axis REIT Managers Bhd is bullish on the outlook for its stock on the
backdrop of healthy growth in the property market. Its chief executive
officer Stewart LaBrooy said on Tuesday the objective was to grow its
asset size to MYR2b by end of 2013. He said there were plans to acquire
up to seven additional properties - mostly industrial ones - to add to
its portfolio this year. Axis REIT Managers was in negotiations to
acquire five properties in Petaling Jaya, Johor and Shah Alam, with a
combined value of nearly MYR228m. (Source: The Star)

Adventa: Gets revised takeover from Aspion.
Adventa Bhd has received a revised takeover offer from Aspion Sdn Bhd,
which will exclude the shares in two companies - Sun Healthcare (M) Sdn
Bhd and Electron Beam Sdn Bhd. Adventa said on Tuesday the offer price
of MYR320.85m, or MYR2.10 per Adventa share, remained unchanged under
the revised offer. The glove maker said Aspion had excluded all the
shares of Sun Healthcare and the 100% stake in Electron Beam, if held
at the completion date of the takeover. Earlier, Adventa had agreed to
acquire 2.5 million shares or 100% of Electron Bream for MYR9m.

Petronas Dagangan: Eyes 10% rise in petrol sales.
Petronas Dagangan Bhd eyes a total sale of 5b litres of petrol this
year, up 10% from last year, driven by an increase in the number of
petrol pump stations. Retail Business Division Senior general manager
Akbar Md Tha-yoob said the group sold over 4b litres of petrol last

Brahim's: Expands into Japan.
Brahim's Food Group has added a feather to its cap by expanding into
Japan with the setting up of Brahim's Food Japan Co Ltd. Brahim's Food
Japan (BFJ) will be the Japan branch of Brahim's Dewina Group of
Companies to facilitate distribution of Brahim's products in Japan.
Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad Badawi, executive chairman of Brahim's Dewina
Group, said at the launching of the company last Wednesday in Tokyo
that 18 products would initially be on offer for the Japanese market.
They include Brahim's Malaysian Nyonya Sauce, Brahim's Spicy Tomato

E.U: Services and manufacturing output contracted for a sixth month in July,
adding to signs of a deepening economic slump. A composite index based
on a survey of purchasing managers in both industries in the 17-nation
euro area was unchanged at 46.4, the same level as in June,
London-based Markit Economics said. A reading below 50 indicates

France: Business confidence fell to the lowest in 2 1/2 years in July,
adding to signs of slowdown in the euro area's second-largest economy.
Sentiment among French factory executives fell to 90, the lowest since
February 2010, from a revised 91 in June, Insee said. (Source:

China: Manufacturing gauge shows slowdown may be ebbing.
China's manufacturing may contract at a slower pace in July after two
interest-rate cuts and a rebound in lending spurred demand in the
world's second-largest economy, a private survey indicated. The
preliminary reading was 49.5 for a purchasing managers' index released
by HSBC Holdings Plc and Markit Economics. If confirmed, that would be
the highest since February. In June, the final number was 48.2.

China: Leading economic index rose at a weaker pace in June.
The gauge increased 0.1% MoM from May to 234.9, the Conference Board, a
New York-based research group, said, citing a preliminary reading. That

H.K: Exports and imports were below forecasts
in analyst surveys as the euro region's sovereign-debt crisis and a
slowdown in China weighed on demand. Outbound shipments fell 4.8% YoY
in June. Imports slipped 2.9% YoY, according to a statement on the

Vietnam: Inflation slowed for an eleventh month
to the lowest in more than two-and-a-half years, supporting moves to
spark credit growth and boost the economy. Consumer prices climbed
5.35% YoY in July after rising 6.9% YoY in June, the General Statistics
