MK Land: Govt land for affordable housing (8893)

PETALING JAYA: The Government should looking into releasing
government land to developers for the building of affordable houses,
said MK Land Holdings Bhd.
Its chairman Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal
said on Friday the developers could use 75%of the land to build
affordable houses while the remaining 25% could be for other types of
houses.
On the Budget 2013 proposals to be announced on Sept 28,
he urged the government to give incentives such as reducing tax to
encourage developers to build affordable housing.
To date, the company has completed 29,982 affordable houses with a gross development value of RM1.8bil.
