KUALA LUMPUR (May 13): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today in tandem with the firmer underlying cash market, dealers said.

At close, spot month May 2013 was 13 points better at 1,782, June 2013 added 10.5 points to 1,781, September 2013 climbed 7.5 points to 1,774 and December 2013 rose eight points to 1,769.

Turnover advanced to 6,941 lots, from Friday's 6,035 lots, while open interest increased marginally to 43,463 contracts from 42,188 contracts previously.

The underlying FBM KLCI strengthened 15.52 points to 1,787.90. -- BERNAMA
