Pos M’sia Q4 profit rises

PETALING JAYA: Pos Malaysia Bhd’s net profit for its fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013 rose to RM32.49mil from RM26.84mil in the previous corresponding period, mainly due to a higher operating profit.
Revenue increased to RM344.49mil from RM308.05mil a year earlier, it said in a note to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.
For its full-year ended March 31, 2013, net profit increased to RM151.31mil from RM100.58mil a year earlier, while revenue increased to RM1.27bil from RM1.18bil previously.
As for prospects, the company said that while the global economic outlook had improved, the path towards recovery in the advanced economies appeared to remain constrained by fiscal and structural concerns.
“More importantly, emerging economies, including Malaysia, have remained resilient and continue to perform well,” it said.
