Update Scomi Energy gets RM159m Tenaga contract

KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): Scomi Energy Services Bhd has secured a RM158.7 million contract from TENAGA NASIONAL BHD [] to transport coal for the latter's electricity-generation operations.
In a statement today, Scomi Energy said the two-year contract from Tenaga's wholly-owned unit TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd starts from September 1 this year. The deal comes with an optional one-year extension.
"Under the contract, Scomi Energy is expected to transport approximately three million metric tonnes of coal per year to and from various locations.
“Scomi has had a long-standing business relationship with TNB Fuel Services as we have been in their vendors’ list since 2005," Scomi Energy president for marine services Mukhnizam Mahmud said.
