Bonia says it wants to conduct two more public listings in the region and be well-established in five other countries.


PETALING JAYA: Bonia Corp Bhd’s shares perked up to an all-time-high on Friday after the company saw the entry of British Virgin Islands-based investor Milingtonia Ltd as a substantial shareholder.
The Malaysian-based fashion-wear company’s shares ended the day gaining 19 sen to RM3.10 on a volume of 7.43 million shares.
The company saw Milingtonia emerging with a 6.82% stake with a direct interest of 13.75 million units via a direct business transaction.
Notably, Bonia, had earlier in the week, seen Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra and Amanahraya Trustees Bhd selling 11.47 million and 10.7 million shares, respectively.
Albizia Asean Opportunities had also emerged as a substantial shareholder with a direct 5.73% stake with 11.55 million units in the company in early June.
The company’s profile outlines that it wants to be a billion-dollar company aiming to achieve revenues of RM1bil by the year 2015.
As part of its efforts to achieve this, Bonia said it wanted to conduct two more public listings around the region and be well-established in five other countries.
Bonia’s website describes it as a manufacturer, marketeer and retailer of leatherwear, footwear and men’s apparel and accessories, with 883 sales outlets and 103 boutiques. around the world.
