KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15): The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar today as the greenback strengthened against major currencies on
expectations of the tapering of stimulus programme in US, dealers said.

The ringgit fell against the US dollar to 3.2750/2780 from 3.2735/2765 yesterday, eased against the Singapore dollar to 2.5791/5823 from 2.5739/5783 previously yesterday and declined against the yen to 3.3453/3500 from 3.3311/3349 on Wednesday.

The local currency also depreciated against the British pound to 5.1011/1071 from 5.0671/0727 on Wednesday and easier versus the euro to 4.3518/3568 from 4.3416/3466 yesterday.
