Zecon to build RM606m children hospital
PETALING JAYA: Zecon Bhd’s unit, Zecon Medicare Sdn Bhd, has inked a 30-year concession agreement to build a children’s specialist hospital at University Kebangsaan Malaysia with the Government via the Education Ministry for RM606mil.
The contract includes the total construction cost for the planning, designing, financing, development, construction, landscaping, equipping, installation, completion, testing and commissioning of the said hospital.
The concession for the hospital’s asset management services would entail an estimated payment for the maintenance services charges of RM4.5mil per month once construction is completed and issued with a certificate of acceptance by the Government.
According to its statement to Bursa Malaysia, the construction is expected to be completed within 54 months.
“The project (comprising construction of the facilities and infrastructure and asset management services) is not expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of the group for the next 4.5 years,” it said.
