KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Deleum Bhd's pre-tax profit rose to RM75.591 million for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2013, from RM67.471 million in the same period, a year earlier.
"The increase for the current year, was largely due to improved results from all business segments," the oil and gas services provider said, in a filing to Bursa Malaysia.
The company said that revenue increased by 2.4 per cent to RM484.684 million, from RM473.240 million previously, driven by the improved performance of power and machinery, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul.
For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2013, its pre-tax profit rose by 4.6 per cent to RM20.192 million, from RM19.31 million in the same quarter of 2012, due to better contribution from the maintenance, repair and overhaul segment.
Deleum's revenue rose by 13.9 per cent to RM176.895 million, from RM155.249 million previously, on the back of increased revenue of all business segments, particularly, power and machinery, oilfield services and maintenance, repair and overhaul.
"The Malaysian oil and gas sectors experienced good growth, on the back of strong exploration and production activities, undertaken by Petronas last year.
"This trend is expected to continue and points to another year of growth ahead," Deleum said.
