Europe Roundup: Back to a rally
LONDON: European shares resumed a rally yesterday after a brief dip the previous day, with investors awaiting a rate decision and comments from the European Central Bank after the Bank of England kept interest rates on hold at a record low.
By 1101 GMT, the pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index of top shares was up 0.4 per cent at 1,122.62 points.
In late morning deals, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top shares rose 0.43 per cent to 6,028.67 points. Frankfurt's DAX 30 climbed 0.42 per cent to 7,462.75 points and in Paris the CAC 40 gained 0.43 per cent to 3,978.73.
"It's all about interest rate decisions today (Thursday)," said Capital Spreads analyst Simon Denham. - Agencies
