| Thursday, 19 June 2014 20:02 KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd announced that its net profit for the first quarter to end-April 2014 rose to RM509.4 million, from RM93.6 million a year ago. Revenue for the quarter also surged to RM2.44 billion, from RM1.62 billion. The huge integrated oil and gas service provider declared dividends totalling 2.35 sen per share. The company said the strong performance for the quarter was due mainly to the inclusion of tender rig business subsequent to the completion of its acquisition in April 2013, as well as the inclusion of SKEI (SapuraKencana Energy Inc) business subsequent to completion of its acquisition in February 2014. The group also recognised RM177.8 million gain arising from the acquisition of SKEI. |
