| Monday, 11 August 2014 18:59 KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 11): Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd said its net profit jumped 25.8% to RM42.4 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014, from RM33.7 million a year earlier, helped by lower management expenses and expense reserves. Revenue slipped 3% to RM424.8 million from RM437.9 million which the Islamic insurer said was mainly attributable to lower sales generated by the family takaful business. For the half-year period, the company registered a net profit of RM77.5 million versus RM65.9 million in the previous corresponding period. Revenue was down to RM856.8 million from RM957.5 million. In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, Takaful Malaysia said it will continue its value proposition of rewarding its customers with 15% cash back and establish a strong foothold in the local insurance and takaful arena as the preferred choice for insurance “Through its extensive range of products and services the company continues to be the market leader in the group family takaful business,” it said. |
