KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 16): Lembaga Tabung Haji has emerged as a substantial shareholder of Gas Malaysia Bhd ( Financial Dashboard), after acquiring 1.57 million shares in the company via three separate transaction over the past week.
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Tabung Haji had on Oct 10 (last Friday) purchased 265,100 shares, and further acquired on Oct 13 (Monday) and Oct 14 (Tuesday), another 1 million shares and 305,000 shares respectively.
Following the purchases, the pilgrim fund has increased its direct holdings in Gas Malaysia to 65.05 million shares or a 5.07% stake, apart from an indirect holding of 1.11 million shares.
Gas Malaysia closed unchanged at RM3.50 today, with 1.09 million shares done. It has a market capitalisation of RM4.49 billion.
