KL shares mixed at midmorning

Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mixed midmorning as some investors took profits after the recent gains amid weaker regional markets, dealers said.
At 11am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood 0.85 of a point lower at 1,577.25 after opening 0.55 of a point higher at 1,578.65.
The Finance Index declined 33.54 points to 14,851.18, the Plantation Index dropped 30.52 points to 7,820.06 and the Industrial Index decreased 3.63 points to 2,842.27.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia Emas Index shed 9.75 points to 10,812.99, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index eased 28.34 points to 11,752.20 and the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Ace Index lost 5.87 points to 4,127.59.
Market breadth was positive with 220 advancers, 211 losers while 258 other counters were unchanged. Trading volume stood at 260.19 million shares valued at RM332.46 million.
Actives, newly-listed OldTown rose five sen to RM1.30, The Media Shoppe was flat at 8.5 sen and Talam Corporation was unchanged at 6.5 sen.
Heavyweights, Maybank lost five sen to RM8.85, CIMB was flat at RM8.81 and Petronas Chemicals dropped one sen to RM7.06. -- Bernama
