Nikkei opens lower after Moody's warning on US debt
TOKYO: The Nikkei average opened lower on Thursday shrugging off suggestions of further stimulus by the Federal Reserve, with the mood souring after Moody's said it may cut the U.S. triple-A rating, pulling the dollar below 79 yen.
The benchmark Nikkei lost 0.5 percent to 9,912.34, while the broader Topix shed 0.5 percent to 856.55. – Reuters
