By Azril Annuar / theedgemarkets.com | October 29, 2015 : 3:24 PM MYTKUALA LUMPUR (Oct 29): Japan-based Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc ([You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Valuation: None, Fundamental: None) became a substantial shareholder in Public Bank Bhd ( Valuation: 1.80, Fundamental: 2.80) with a 5.002% stake, after purchasing 193.15 million shares in the Malaysian entity.
According to Public Bank’s statement to Bursa Malaysia today, Mitsubishi UFJ made the purchase on Oct 21 this year.
Today, Public Bank shares fell two sen or 0.1% to RM18.16 at 2:41pm, for a market capitalisation of RM70.1 billion.
The stock saw some 1.6 million shares traded.
