KL shares lower at mid-morning
Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mostly lower mid-morning with sentiment turning cautious in line with the easier rend on Wall Street inspite of US lawmakers approving a deal to raise the country's debt limit, dealers said.
However, the benchmark FBM KLCI moved into the positive territory after
succumbing to losses earlier this morning.
As at 11.00 am, the FBM KLCI was 0.15 of a point better at 1,558.16 after
opening 0.01 point higher at 1,558.02.
The Finance Index slipped 17.181 points to 14,734.56, Plantation Index,
however, rose 26 points to 7,774.62 while the Industrial Index decreased 0.64 of a point to 2,841.97.
The FBM Emas Index increased 2.38 points to 10,752.39, FBM Mid 70 Index
fell 14.29 points to 11,919.88 while the FBM Ace Index dropped 9.51 points
to 4,144.81.
Losers beat gainers 317 to 188 with 255 counters unchanged, 741 untraded
while 27 others were suspended. Turnover stood at 287.3 million shares worth RM333 million.
Actives, Lion Corporation gained two sen to 29.5 sen, Lion Diversified
Holdings rose three sen to 55.5 sen but DVM Technology declined 3.5 sen to
19.5 sen and Hibiscus Petroleum increased half-a-sen to 59.5 sen.
Heavyweights, both Maybank and CIMB declined one sen each to RM8.83 and
RM8.41, respectively, Petronas Chemicals gained four sen to RM7.02 and Sime
Darby rose one sen to RM9.15. -- Bernama
