KL shares broadly lower at mid-morning
KUALA LUMPUR: Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were broadly lower at mid-morning today in line with the weaker movement on risk
assets regionally, dealers said.
At 11 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) declined 6.17 points to 1,406.95, with most bluechips like Sime Darby, CIMB, Maxis and Petronas Chemicals turning red.
The Finance Index was 32.26 points lower at 14,173.82 and the Industrial Index lost 14.71 points to 2,808.44 while the Plantation Index declined 40.4 points to 8,668.56.
The FBM Emas Index dropped 60.01 points to 10,860.21, the FBM 70 Index lost 82.15 points to 11.964.76, the FBMT100 slid 59.479 points to 10,661.94 and the FBM Ace Index fell 34.58 points to 4,540.86.
Decliners outnumbered advancers 399 to 121 while 235 counters were unchanged, 770 untraded and 34 others suspended.
Trading was mild with a total volume of 316.511 million shares worth RM222.391 million traded.
For the actives, KFC-CB earned two sen to four sen, Time Engineering added 3.5 sen to 36.5 sen, Maybulk-CC fell one sen to 18 sen and Ariantec was unchanged at 25 sen.
Among heavyweights, Maybank hogged the limelight by adding two sen to RM8.73, while Sime Darby and CIMB lost one sen each to RM9.78 and RM7.53 respectively, with Petronas Chemicals declining five sen to RM6.60. - Bernama
