Tasco Q2 pre-tax profit rises slightly

Tasco Bhd's pre-tax profit rose slightly to RM9.29 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011 from RM9.11 million recorded in the same quarter last year.
However, revenue declined to RM107.4 million, from RM112.7 million, chalked up previously, due to lower revenue posted by its air freight business as a result of lower shipping volume.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the prospect of the group's business was very much dependent on the performance of the Malaysian and world economies, which impacted directly on the health and vibrancy of the local manufacturing sectors and international trade.
"Hence, we are mindful of the current economic conditions and remain hopeful. We will continue to remain focused in efforts to service our customers," it said. -- Bernama
