Hong Kong: Flat after late buying spree
SHARES ended flat yesterday as earlier losses were wiped out in a late buying spree.
The Hang Seng Index edged 4.05 points higher to end at 17,711.06.
Hong Kong-listed Chinese banks got a boost after Central Huijin Investment, the domestic investment arm of China's sovereign-wealth fund, said it had started buying their shares.
Near the end of trading, the Hang Seng Index was down 1.5 per cent but then surged on the Huijin news. - Agencies
