Hong Kong: Up 0.13pc after late rally

STOCKS closed 0.13 per cent higher yesterday in a late rally after spending most of the day in negative territory on fears over a possible US debt default.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 29.05 points to 22,570.74.

The index was boosted by optimism over local firms' upcoming earnings results, offsetting concerns over the possible US default. - AF
