Astral Asia climbs 4.9pc on land offer

Astral Asia Bhd, an engineering and plantation group, climbed 4.9 per cent to RM1.49, its highest level since January 21, 2008.

The company received an offer of RM26.2 million (US$8.29 million)
from Zhong Cheng Mining (M) Sdn for a 100-acre piece of land, and may
sell additional land for RM130.7 million, Astral said in a statement. --
