KL shares close marginally lower
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Malaysia
trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close
in Kuala Lumpur. The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index fell 0.2 per cent
to 1,556.73, its first decline in three days.
JT International
Bhd, a cigarette maker, dropped 3.5 per cent to RM6.91, its steepest
decline since Dec. 8. The company’s fourth-quarter profit slid 34 per
cent from a year earlier to RM18.1 million, it said in a statement.
Petronas
Chemicals Group Bhd, the petrochemicals arm of Malaysia’s state oil and
gas company, fell 1.5 per cent to RM6.80, the most since Dec. 20.
Third-quarter net income dropped 16 per cent from a year earlier to
RM735 million, the company said in an exchange filing.
Tanjung
Offshore Bhd, an oil and gas services provider, slid 5.4 per cent to
87.5 sen, its lowest close since Feb. 9. Fourth-quarter net loss widened
to RM58.8 million from RM308,000 a year earlier, the company said in a
statement.
TDM Bhd, a palm oil producer, gained 1.9 per cent to RM4.76, its biggest
increase since Feb. 17. Fourth-quarter profit grew 45 per cent from a
year earlier to RM44.3 million, the company said in a statement.
Tradewinds
Corp, a property, construction and financial services group, fell 1.1
per cent to 86.5 sen. The company’s fourth-quarter profit slipped to
RM33.7 million from RM76.6 million a year earlier, it said in a
statement.
Zelan Bhd jumped 11 per cent to 50.5 sen, its largest
gain since Oct. 14. The company reported third-quarter net income of
RM63.4 million, compared with a loss of RM41.3 million a year earlier,
