Sony eyes bigger pie with new Cybershots
Sony is in an excellent position to continue leading the way in developing new products that meet the needs of its customers.
Sony Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director, Kikuo Okura, said the company has reaffirmed its leadership in the fundamentals of electronics in Malaysia with the launch of its latest product series for local market.
"Sony's products embody style, functionality and cutting-edge technology with excellent user-friendly qualities making them ideal for the entire family to realise their creative dreams," he said after the launch of the company's latest range of products here today.
Among the new range of products are Bravia television (TV), Walkman Z Series, full high-definition camcorders and a new range of Cybershot digital cameras.
Meanwhile, head of brand activition and management division, Masaki Matsumae, said Sony aimed to increase its market share for liquid crystal display TVs to 23 per cent from 20 per cent now.
"Our current market share for Cybershot is 18 per cent and we expect to increase 25 per cent this year. We also aim to maintain our market share for Handycam (50 per cent) and Walkman (35 per cent). -- Bernama
