KL shares remain easier at mid-afternoon
Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were traded lower in the mid-afternoon session, on the back of extended selling amid
renewed hopes over new measures to bolster the US economic growth, dealers said.
As at 3.20pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI fell 8.06 points or 0.49 per cent to 1,627.03.
Dealers said expectation that the US Federal Reserve would act as early as its rate-setting meeting next week has been growing.

home, the Finance Index shed 21.82 points to 14,664.04, the Plantation
Index went down by 62.84 points to 8,737.85 and the Industrial Index
lost 26.75 points to 2,842.9.
The FBM Emas Index lost 52.24 points to
11,126.52, the FBM 70 Index dipped 56.83 points to 12,221.03 while the
FBM Ace Index added 25.3 points to 4,322.24.
Losers led gainers 372 to 261 while 319 counters were unchanged, 642 untraded and 22 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 671.178 million shares worth RM872.642 million.
Of
the active stocks, IHH Healthcare gained eight sen to RM3.17, Niche
Capital advanced 1.5 sen to five sen, Metronic Global was flat at nine
sen while AYS Ventures slipped four sen to 49 sen.
Among
heavyweights, Maybank fell two sen to RM8.73, Sime Darby declined 12
sen to RM9.83, CIMB lost three sen to RM7.83 while Petronas Chemicals
slipped one sen to RM6.54. -- BERNAMA
