KL shares mixed at mid-afternoon

Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mixed at mid-afternoon today amid the lack of participation in the short trading week, dealers said.
At 3 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 4.07 points to 1,571.87. It had opened 2.66 points higher at 1,570.46 compared with Friday's close of 1,567.8.
The Finance Index increased 46.16 points to 14,031.22, the Industrial Index added 3.18 points to 2,828.05 and the Plantation Index rose 32.779 points to 8,680.56.
The FBM Emas Index went up 26.75 points to 10,789.56 and the FBM 70 Index increased 39.71 points to 11,914.75 but the FBM ACE Index declined 2.49 points to 4,532.84.
Losers led gainers 315 to 238 while 311 counters were unchanged, 671 untraded and 34 others suspended. Turnover stood at 484.649 million shares worth RM535.32 million.
Among active counters, Ariantec Global lost half-a-sen to 25 sen, 1 Utopia was flat at 8.5 sen and DRBHCOM-CG edged up two sen to 13 sen.
For the heavyweights, Maybank lost three sen to RM8.61, Sime Darby gained two sen to RM9.74 and CIMB added eight sen to RM7.41. -- Bernama
