KL shares higher at mid-afternoon

Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained in the positive territory mid-afternoon but trading was cautious across in tandem
with regional bourses, dealers said.
As at 3.03 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 0.57 of a point to 1,579.95.
The Finance Index gained 44.60 points to 14,218.55 but the Plantation Index eased 40.82 points to 8,573.14 and the Industrial Index decreased 0.48 of a point to 2,844.85.
The FBM Emas Index rose 8.7 points to 10,893.21, the FBM Mid 70 Index added 24.79 points to 12,171.47 and the FBM ACE Index increased 83.29 points to 4,653.07.
For actives, Metronic Global and Ariantec Global added 4.5 sen each to 12.5 sen and 9.5 sen, respectively, and I-Power perked 1.5 sen to 7.0 sen.
Among heavyweights, Maybank advanced five sen to RM8.81, Sime Darby improved four sen to RM9.75, CIMB rose eight sen to RM6.75 and Petronas Chemicals was flat at RM6.77. -- Bernama
