HSBC Malaysia wins FinanceAsia award

HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC Group, has won the "Best Foreign Commercial Bank" Award for 2011 in a contest hosted by the FinanceAsia magazine.
Mukhtar Hussain, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Malaysia and Global CEO of HSBC Amanah, said: "We are delighted with this win as it is a great recognition for our continuous dedication and effort towards being the leading foreign bank in Malaysia."
"We are a key cash management and trade finance player in Malaysia and HSBC is the only foreign-owned bank approved by Bank Negara to offer Renminbi forward contracts onshore," he said in a statement.
The bank last won the award in 2009 and was working to bag the award for next year. -- Bernama
